An interview with Piper Stremmel, Owner

What made you decide to get into the business of food/drink?

For the fast-paced, challenging, and gratifying lifestyle it provides; for the joy of simply being around and exposed to food and drink; and most importantly, for the pleasure of hosting and creating unique experiences for others.

Why Reno?

Reno is my hometown, so in a way, this food & beverage concept feels like a homecoming.

Why are you excited for Reno Restaurant Week?

We are a relatively new restaurant and bar venue, so we are incredibly excited to participate in our first Reno Restaurant Week along with other restaurants around Reno that we love and respect.

What is one thing you’d like your guests to know about you and/or your establishment?

Our primary goal is and has always been to create a space that brings people together.

How are you complying with safety guidelines for COVID-19?

We are following social distancing guidelines, per the CDC and the State of Nevada.  Patrons at both The Jesse and Estella are currently only permitted to sit on the patio or in The Jesse, at a 50% capacity, with a maximum of 65 people on the patio and 30 people inside The Jesse.  Guests are not allowed to be seated in Estella.  At the moment, we are limiting party sizes to a maximum of 5 people.  We ask that people maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others, and we are encouraging masks or face coverings.  All surfaces and menus are being properly sanitized between each use, as are all major touch points in high traffic areas.  All employees are required to wear face masks while working.  Employees are washing their hands frequently and are required to stay home if feeling ill.
