Urban Roots is now selling its family engagement kits for just $20.
There are three types of kits; one for students kindergarten through second grade, a second for third to fifth graders and a third for sixth to eighth graders. Kits include a book, materials for hands-on activities, seeds and soil/pot. All curriculum is standards-aligned and translated into Spanish. Bonus, those who order by Tuesday, April 7, will get them delivered to their doorstep by Friday, April 10.
Urban Roots is a local nonprofit that changes the way kids eat and learn. The organization is supported by donations and grants and through revenue from spring and summer camp. Cancellations from the pandemic are jeopardizing the health of the nonprofit’s finances. Despite the challenge, it’s finding ways to distribute messaging and connect with students who can benefit via Facebook posts, emails and Instagram stories that provide engaging activities and information.
