About This Establishment
Edelweiss and its owner, Monika, both share Austrian heritage. Monika, the daughter of an Austrian ski instructor who moved to the Reno/Tahoe area, was raised on a strict diet of goulash and moguls. Her dream was to share her love of food and skiing with others, leading to the creation of Edelweiss Pub.
Edelweiss Pub is known for its “Austrian Comfort Food,” crafted by Monika’s ancestors who lived near the Tyrolean Alps. The menu features rich beef goulash with a nuanced paprika gravy, pork schnitzel pounded thin and breaded even thinner, and warm spaetzle noodles.
Chef Colton didn’t invent these dishes; he perfected them, working from the original recipes handed down by Monika’s father, Hans. In his honor, a pizza is even named after him.
After a day on the slopes, visitors often have “ein starker Durst” – a powerful thirst that Edelweiss is uniquely qualified to quench with its selection of 14 beers on tap and signature cocktails served at the large central bar. A fine pilsner and a side of fries at the bar will get anyone ready for their next run.

We enjoyed a nice evening here. Was not our first time nor will it be our last. Started off with the Espresso old-fashioned, nice blend of coffee with the classic flavors of and old fashioned. Ended up ordering a second later on.
The goulash poutine was flavorful with the meat being super tender. They were also running a weekend special of German beer clams so we had to have an order of them also. Everything was super tasty and filling. Monika and Paul have done an amazing job.
