For Luis and April Rosales, owners of The Urban Deli, the deli business is in the blood. Luis’ mother owned a deli in San Francisco for a dozen years, and April’s brother still owns a deli in the city. “When we were thinking about establishing more roots here in Reno and thinking what does Reno need and what can we do well, we immediately thought—‘a deli!’ ” the couple says.
The Idlewild, a signature sandwich, layers chicken, bacon, provolone, fixings and housemade sriracha on a soft roll. The Kietzke, another signature, unites roast beef, horseradish cheddar and horseradish cream. Build-your-own sandwiches can be assembled from choice of breads, Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, produce toppings, and swipes of chipotle mayo and other spreads.
