In the Eldorado Resort Casino, the southern property in downtown Reno’s THE ROW, it’s impossible to miss Roxy restaurant: It’s right next to the galloping sea stallions and conch blowing ocean gods of the Fountain of Fortune. Roxy, inspired historic European architecture, features seven different interiors and exteriors.

Sip from one of more than 100 martinis served by the Roxy bar, then head down to dinner. French onion soup and lobster bisque show why familiarity breeds respect. Among the Roxy classics, seriously consider day boat scallops with crab hash browns. If you’re feeling chops, there are a half-dozen options.

The beginning of dinner is when you must order one of the daily soufflés. Do so.

In addition to being famous for its 102 martinis, Roxy’s chefs hand select top cuts of meats, poultry and fish to create exquisite entrées prepared in a specialty wood-fried oven.

French Onion Soup: caramelized onions, rich veal stock and gruyere
Petite Filet:

 a Berkshire pork chop with farro grains, bacon and fava beans and grilled peaches
Salmon: cedar plank verlasso salmon served with crispy sesame rice, ginger & marin glaze, mango relish and broccolini
