Estella showcases some of the most creative tacos in the region, with rustic housemade tortillas, local ingredients and fillings like carnitas dusted with queso Oaxaca, al pastor jabbed with guajillo chiles, and vegetarian and gluten-free versions. Riding sidecar: a fine selection of smoky mezcals.
Estella occupies a brick former coffee roastery across a leafy courtyard from the Jesse, its sister boutique hotel and bar that opened in 2019 in a historic 1907 building. Downstairs at the Jesse bar, craft cocktails flourish; upstairs, six bright airy rooms await.
